ISSUES
TAHC&H is committed to ensuring every Texan who requires home care and hospice services receives compassionate, timely, and high-quality care in their own homes. Unfortunately, Texas is currently failing both patients and the providers who serve them.

Our industry faces critical challenges that demand immediate attention: stagnant reimbursement rates that threaten provider sustainability, an acute shortage of caregivers leaving medically vulnerable populations without adequate care, and excessive regulatory burdens that divert resources away from patients and block common sense solutions.

Home care and hospice services are cost-effective alternatives to institutionalized care that reduce hospital readmissions and honor patient dignity. As Texas' population ages, demand is outpacing the workforce and provider capacity. Failure to act now will result in a system unable to serve those who need it most.

TAHC&H urges lawmakers to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates, invest in workforce development, streamline regulations, and expand access to home-based care across Texas. We stand ready to partner with legislators to build a sustainable future for home care and hospice in our state.
